It is very simple to submit your work to us. Just email us at staff@independentbook.com with an electronic copy of the entire work and a short abstract. The file format can be in any of the most common word processing programs on the market (MS Word, Word Perfect, Adobe Acrobat). The book can be a biography, novel, children's story; you name it!
In order to reduce the time to epublish and post your works on our site, we require that all submissions to be in a specific format (see below).
All of our services are free of charge. And as long as people are reading it, we will keep it posted.
If you are concerned about unauthorized copies of your book, we recommend that you obtain a copyright for your work. Please read the license agreement described below carefully, because your rights are important.

License Agreement
Before we e-publish your book, we have to agree on the terms listed below. Please read these terms carefully. The agreement says that you (the writer) own the rights to sell the content in your document, and that IndependentBook.com is not responsible if all or portions of the work may have been written by someone else. You maintain full editorial control over your work and own the copyright. IndependentBook.com will own the digital version of your e-book, published by IndependentBook.com.
Once you have agreed to all of the terms of this agreement, you consent to be bound by and become a party of this agreement with IndependentBook.com. If you do not agree to all of the terms of this agreement, IndependentBook.com will not e-publish your document.
LICENSE: Writer grants IndependentBook.com a worldwide license to create, display, transmit and distribute electronic reproductions of the materials submitted to IndependentBook.com. IndependentBook.com may modify the contents as necessary.
NOTICE: All copies of e-books created by IndependentBook.com shall faithfully reproduce the content specified in the document provided by Writer, with the following exceptions: - IndependentBook.com may optionally include a notice (including IndependentBook.com's logo and/or other identifying information) that the Material was manufactured and distributed by IndependentBook.com, provided that such notice does not cause confusion as to the authorship, ownership, and original origin of the document.
- IndependentBook.com may optionally include some ads in appropriate sections of the document to bring in funds to cover all expenses related to publishing and posting of e-books.
WARRANTIES: Writer warrants to IndependentBook.com that Writer is the sole owner of the Material and all related intellectual property and that neither the Materials or exercise of any rights or licenses granted by this Agreement will:
I) violate any contract by which Writer is bound or any applicable law or regulation or
II) violate or misappropriate any copyright or other intellectual property rights of any third party or
III) defame any third party or otherwise violate any law or any right of any right of any third party or
IV) constitute obscenity or hate literature.
Further, Writer will compensate and hold IndependentBook.com harmless from all claims, damages, and expenses (including, without limitation, attorneys' fees) arising from Writer's breach of any representation or warranty contained in this Section. Writer shall have no obligation under this section with respect to any claim of infringement of proprietary rights based solely upon unauthorized modification of Materials by IndependentBook.com or the combination, operation or use of Materials with materials not supplied by Writer to the extent such infringement would not have occurred without such modification, combination, operation or use. IndependentBook.com may at any time cease all activity with respect to, and provision of access to, any Material that is alleged to be (or that IndependentBook.com believes to be) in violation of any of the foregoing warranties or that IndependentBook.com otherwise believes to be damaging to its reputation.
TERM AND TERMINATION: IndependentBook.com may terminate this Agreement at any time with or without cause. At any time if you (the writer) decide to terminate this agreement, you must pay for all the otherwise free service (spell and grammar checking, formatting, editing, cover design, posting, and promotion of the e-book) provided by IndependentBook.com.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: INDEPENDENTBOOK.COM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE OR OBLIGATED WITH RESPECT TO THE SUBJECT OF THIS AGREEMENT OR UNDER ANY CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHER LEGAL OR EQUITABLE THEORY FOR ANY AMOUNTS IN EXCESS IN THE AGGREGATE OF THE FEES PAID TO IT WITH RESPECT TO THE APPLICABLE MATERIAL OR FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
GENERAL: This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Michigan without regard to conflicts of laws provisions. Writer may not assign this Agreement without IndependentBook.com's prior written consent, which shall not be unreasonably withheld; IndependentBook.com may assign and sublicense this Agreement. Any assignment in violation of this shall be null and void. The failure or delay by either party in exercising any right, power or remedy under this Agreement shall not operate as a waiver of any such right, power or remedy.

Required Format
We strongly recommend setting up these format-settings before starting your work, as it takes longer to reformat a completed work. The instructions below are applicable to MS Word editor.
Margins:
Top 80 pt, Bottom 80 pt, Left 100 pt, Right 100 pt (go to Toolbar: File, Page Setup, Margins)
Paragraph:
1.5 lines spacing, 6 pt before and after new paragraphs (go to Toolbar: Format, Paragraph)
Indentation for first line of a new paragraph: Do not use the ‘Tab’ key. Use indentation for first line 30-40 pt (go to Toolbar: Format, Paragraph)
Style:
Normal text: Arial 14, Alignment Left (go to Toolbar: Format, Styles)
Heading 1: Arial 18, Alignment Center , use only for Parts or Sections (go to Toolbar: Format, Style)
Heading 2: Arial 16, Italic, Alignment Center , use only for Chapters (go to Toolbar: Format, Style)
Heading 3: Arial 14, Italic, Alignment Center , use only for Sub-sections of Chapters (go to Toolbar: Format, Styles)
Do not use any other Headings
